Lollipop Sugar Cookies
- 2/3 c. butter flavor Crisco
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. and 1 tsp. milk
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 24 to 30 flat ice cream sticks
- red hots
- coconut
- nuts
- colored sugar
- Cream butter flavor Crisco, sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl at medium speed until well blended.
- Beat egg into mixture. Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
- Mix into creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate for several hours, or overnight.
- Heat oven to 375u0b0.
- Shape dough into 1 1/2-inch balls and push sticks into center of dough.
- Place dough, with stick parallel, 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
- Flatten to 1/2 inch with large, smooth, greased and floured spatula.
- Decorate as desired with red hots, coconut, nuts or colored sugar, etc.
- Press decoration into dough. Bake at 375u0b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Cool on baking sheet.
