Root Beer BBQ Pork
- 3 pounds Boneless Pork Loin Roast
- 1 Tablespoon Oil
- 3 Tablespoons BBQ Seasoning Mix, Dry Mix
- 18 ounces, fluid BBQ Sauce, Bottled
- 1- 1/4 cup Root Beer
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Garlic, Minced
- 3 dashes Liquid Smoke
- 3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Mustard
- Oven method: Preheat oven to 350 F. Ninja: Preheat to roasting setting at 375 F.
- Pat your roast dry and season generously with your preferred dry rub/BBQ seasoning.
- In a deep skillet over high heat, heat the oil.
- Then add the roast.
- Sear the roast on all sides until a nice and caramelized, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove roast from pan and place in an oven roasting pan (pr of using a Ninja, place on roasting rack in Ninja) and roast for about 1 hour 15 minutes or until internal temperature is at 145 F in the thickest part of the roast.
- Start preparing the sauce with about 30 minutes left.
- Remove the roast from the oven/Ninja (keep oven/Ninja on), let it rest for about 10 minutes then shred with 2 forks.
- Toss it in a bowl with the sauce (recipe below) and place back in the Ninja or oven for about 10 minutes to allow the sauce to caramelize onto the meat.
- Remove when done and serve on toasty buns!
- For the sauce: Combine BBQ sauce, root beer, salt, garlic, Liquid Smoke, brown sugar and mustard in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium high heat.
- Reduce heat and allow to simmer for about 15-20 minutes stirring occasionally.
- The sauce will reduce allowing the flavors to blend together perfectly.
