Crispy Fried Fish Sandwiches Recipe

  1. Cut fresh or possibly partially thawed fish into six 3 inch squares about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. Dip fish portions in egg then in crumbs.
  3. Fry fish in 1/2 inch Crisco heated in 350 degree oven in electric skillet (or possibly large skillet over medium heat) till golden, about 4 to 6 min on each side.
  4. Or possibly fill deep fryer half full with Crisco and heat to 365 degrees.
  5. Add in fish and fry till golden, about 4 to 6 min.
  6. Drain on paper toweling.
  7. Place one side of cheese on bottom half of sandwich bun.
  8. Top with warm fried fish.
  9. Spread 1 Tbsp.
  10. tartar sauce over fish.
  11. Cover with top half of bun.
  12. Prebreaded frzn fish fillets may also be fried as shown above.
  13. Tartar sauce: In a bowl, combine 1 c. mayonnaise or possibly salad dressing, 1 Tbsp.
  14. finely minced dill pickle, 1 Tbsp.
  15. finely minced onion and 1 tsp.
  16. lemon juice.
