Sand Tarts

  1. Chill dough.
  2. Roll out thick (3/8 inch).
  3. Cut with 2 1/2 inch round cutter or use shaped cutter if desired.
  4. Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 350u0b0 for 13 to 15 minutes.
  6. Cool on wax paper, turning after about 3 minutes (to keep bottom from getting moist).
  7. When finished with all, place in cookie jar.
  8. Mix pieces of fresh bread, torn 1/4 inch.
  9. This will soften and keep cookies moist.
  10. Will need to replace with fresh bread every 2 to 3 days. Feed old bread to birds or use as bread crumbs in other recipes.
