Mixed Vegetables Mornay
- 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
- 3 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
- 2 slices bread, torn into small pieces
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- Cook vegetables as directed on package until just tender. Melt 3 tablespoons butter, blending in flour (do not brown).
- Add milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Add seasonings and cheese, stirring just until cheese is melted. Place drained vegetables in a greased 1 1/2-quart shallow casserole dish.
- Cover with sauce.
- Toss bread in remaining butter and scatter on top.
- Bake in a very hot oven at 450u0b0 for 10 minutes or until browned.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
