Bread Pudding With Vanilla Sauce Recipe

  1. Generously butter bread (both sides).
  2. Beat Large eggs & mix with lowfat milk, sugar, salt, vanilla, nutmeg & cinnamon.
  3. Pour lowfat milk mix over the buttered bread & let soak at least 1 hour.
  4. Mash with potato masher & bake 50-60 min in a 13x9-inch buttered casserole at 350.
  5. Serve hot with vanilla sauce.
  6. Vanilla Sauce: Combine sugar, cornstarch & salt in pan.
  7. Add in boiling water gradually, stirring.
  8. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, about 5-10 min.
  9. Remove from heat, add in butter & vanilla.
  10. Combine Large eggs, lowfat milk, vanilla, cinnamon & salt.
  11. Stir in biscuit crumbs.
  12. Pour into 8x8x2-inch ovenware baking dish.
  13. Bake at 350 for 45-50 min.
  14. (Pudding will rise in the oven & fall as it cools.)
  15. Serve with vanilla sauce.
  16. Vanilla Sauce: Mix sugar & flour.
  17. Add in remaining ingredients & cook over medium heat till desired thickness.
