Easy Cinnamon Buns
- 1 c. hot water
- 4 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 3 1/2 c. hot water
- 1 c. margarine
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 tsp. salt
- 10 to 12 c. flour
- 2 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 3/4 chopped nuts (optional)
- 4 c. powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/3 c. hot water
- Combine hot water, yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar.
- Mix until dissolved; set aside.
- Combine 3 1/2 c. hot water, margarine, 1 cup sugar and salt.
- Mix until melted.
- Cool to lukewarm and add to yeast mixture.
- Beat in enough flour to make a thick, but still sticky dough, not stiff enough to knead.
- Place in greased bowl, grease top, and let rise until double in size.
- Sprinkle flour on counter and roll dough into a rectangle 8 x 42-inches, 1/2-inch thick.
- Spread 1/3 cup melted butter over dough.
- Mix 2 1/2 cups brown sugar, 1 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon and 3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional) and sprinkle over dough.
- Roll up like a jelly roll and cut into 1-inch slices.
- Place in 6 (8 or 9-inch) cake pans. Let rise until double again.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 15 to 20 minutes until lightly browned.
- Do not overbake.
