Autumn Apple Bread Recipe
- 1/4 c. Shortening
- 2/3 c. Sugar
- 2 x Large eggs, beaten
- 2 c. All purpose flour, sifted
- 1 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 c. Apples, coarsely grated, peeled raw
- 1 Tbsp. Grated lemon peel
- 2/3 c. Nuts, minced
- Cream shortening and sugar till light and fluffy; beat in Large eggs.
- Sift next 4 ingredients.
- Add in alternately with apples to egg mix.
- Stir in lemon rind and nuts.
- Bake in floured, greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan in preheated 350 oven for approximately 40 to 50 min.
- Cold before slicing.
