Meat Mushroom Sauce Recipe
- 1 pound pork sausage meat
- 4 very lg. onions, minced
- 4-6 lg. garlic cloves, chopped
- 3/4 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced thin
- 1 fifth (4/5 quart.) dry red table wine
- 1/2 teaspoon marjoram
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 2 pound grnd round
- 3 cans (15 ounce.) tomato sauce
- 1 c. minced parsley
- 2 teaspoon salt (about)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon crumbled rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse grnd pepper
- Brown sausage; add in grnd round.
- Add in onions and saute/fry till limp.
- Add in garlic, parsley and mushrooms; stir to cover with meat drippings.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Cover loosely and simmer (stir occasionally) for 3 hrs or possibly till reduced to thick sauce consistency.
