Pepper Steak
- 1 1/2 lb. sirloin steak, sliced thin into strips
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 c. beef bouillon
- 1 can beef consomme soup
- 1 can water
- 1 minced garlic clove or 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 large green pepper, sliced in thin slivers
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- mashed potatoes
- chow mein noodles
- Brown meat; add onion.
- Cook until tender.
- Add soy sauce, bouillon, soup, water and garlic.
- Cook on low until meat is tender.
- Add green pepper and cook until pepper is tender.
- Add cornstarch (mix with about 1/2 cup water), stirring constantly while adding, until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
- Serve on mashed potatoes with chow mein noodles sprinkled on top.
