Chocolate Oatmeal Chippers
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 each eggs
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon ground
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg ground
- 3 cups oats, quick cooking uncooked
- 1 cup pecans chopped
- 6 ounces chocolate (semi-sweet) semi-sweet morsels
- Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, and beat well; add water and vanilla, mixing well.
- Combine flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
- Stir in oats and pecans, if desired.
- Stir in chocolate morsels.
- Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 350F (180C) F for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Cool slightly on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks to cool
