Strawberry Pliatsok(Shortcake)
- 6 egg yolks
- 6 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder (heaping)
- 1 qt. strawberries
- 1 (16 oz.) jar Solo strawberry glaze
- 1 small Cool Whip
- Wash, hull and slice strawberries.
- Let drain; set aside.
- Beat egg yolks until lemon colored.
- Slowly add sugar; beat about 10 minutes.
- Add baking powder to flour.
- Add flour mixture slowly to egg yolk mixture.
- Add vanilla; beat well until smooth.
- Grease and flour an 11 x 15 x 2-inch cake pan or a jelly roll pan.
- Beat egg whites until stiff.
- Fold batter into egg whites with wooden spoon gently.
- Immediately pour into greased and floured pan and gently spread with back of spoon.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 15 minutes.
- Let cool. Mix strawberry glaze with strawberries.
- Spread over cooled cake. Spread Cool Whip over all.
- Refrigerate.
- Cut into squares.
