Blackberry Relish

  1. Playing around with sweet fruit and hot peppers yesterday resulted in this amazing relish to eat over our broiled tilapia!
  2. I used a food processor and pulsed the blackberries 3 times, carefully (dont liquify).
  3. Chop onions, hot and sweet peppers (and the tomato and strawberries, if using).
  4. In a large skillet, melt butter, then saute onions, garlic, hot peppers, and sweet peppers.
  5. Add in blackberries and heat until simmering.
  6. If using, add in the strawberries and tomato.
  7. Simmer on medium for a few minutes.
  8. Stir in the lemon juice and salt liberally.
  9. I had about half a cup of my spicy sweet pico de gallo left over (with tomatoes in it), so I tossed it in.
  10. That is why I said it is optional to add them in.
  11. Its fine without them!
