Western Bacon-Nut Salad
- 4 slices bacon, crumbled
- 14-12 cup chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, filberts or walnuts)
- 12 cup sour cream
- 3 tablespoons chili sauce
- 12 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 1 head lettuce
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 1 14 cups celery, diced
- 14-12 cup sliced onion rings
- Cook bacon until crisp.
- Saute nut meats.
- Drain both on paper towels.
- Meanwhile, combine sour cream, chili sauce, mustard, salt and pepper.
- Arrange greens, tomatoes, celery and onion rings in salad bowl.
- Add bacon bits and nut meats.
- Toss lightly to blend.
- Pour sour cream dressing over all and toss gently.
- Additional crisp bacon and sauteed nuts may be passed with salad as accompaniments.
- Serves 6.
