Banana Spice Bars Recipe
- 1 c. Mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)
- 2/3 c. Packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. Vegetable oil
- 2 x Large eggs
- 2 c. Bisquick baking mix
- 1 tsp Pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 c. Minced nuts Browned Butter Frosting (below)
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- GREASE rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches.
- Beat bananas, brown sugar, oil, and Large eggs in large bowl on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally, 1 minute.
- Stir in baking mix, pumpkin pie spice and nuts.
- Spread in pan.
- BAKE till wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 25 min.
- Cold; frost with Browned Butter Frosting.
- Cut into bars, about 3x1 inch.
- Makes 3 dozen
- Applesauce-Spice Bars: Substitute 1 c. applesauce for the bananas.
- (High Altitude Directions 3500-6500 feet: heat oven to 375 degrees.
- Decrease sugar to 1/2 c. and baking
- mix to 1 3/4 c.; add in 1/4 c. all purpose flour.)
