Basic Recipe
- 1 kg white flour (2.2 pounds)
- 25 gm yeast fresh (1 oz) or possibly 1/3 oz dry yeast)
- 20 gm salt (2/3 oz)
- 6 dl water (2 2/5 c.)
- Put flour into large bowl.
- Stir yeast with hot water in small bowl.
- (If the water is cool, the yeast won't grow.
- If the water is too warm, the yeast will die.).
- Add in salt.
- Mix with flour and KNEAD!
- Let raise till size doubles.
- Make two loafs and place on cookie sheet.
- Let raise again briefly.
- Bake at middle heat in preheated oven.
- Baking time is 40 to 70 min.
