Pork Chops with Apples

  1. In a large skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Lightly dredge the pork chops in the flour, shaking off the excess.
  3. Brown the pork chops on both sides in the butter.
  4. Salt and pepper them lightly.
  5. Transfer them to a baking dish.
  6. Add the sliced onions to the skillet and saute until they have softened and start to turn translucent, about 7 or 8 minutes.
  7. Add the thyme and a little salt and pepper.
  8. Pour the onions on top of the pork chops, then place all the sliced apples on top of the onions.
  9. (Dont saute the apples!)
  10. Mix the apple cider, brown sugar and cinnamon together and pour over the apples/onions/pork.
  11. You can sprinkle on additional cinnamon if you like; I always do!
  12. Cover and bake at 425F for about 45 minutes or until the pork chops are done in the middle.
  13. Uncover for the last 12-15 minutes to brown the apples.
