Pork Chops with Apples
- 6 whole Boneless Pork Chops
- 4 Tablespoons Butter
- 1/4 cups Flour
- 2 whole Medium Sized Onions, Sliced
- 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme
- 5 whole Gala Apples, Cored And Sliced
- 4 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cups Apple Cider
- 1- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- In a large skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Lightly dredge the pork chops in the flour, shaking off the excess.
- Brown the pork chops on both sides in the butter.
- Salt and pepper them lightly.
- Transfer them to a baking dish.
- Add the sliced onions to the skillet and saute until they have softened and start to turn translucent, about 7 or 8 minutes.
- Add the thyme and a little salt and pepper.
- Pour the onions on top of the pork chops, then place all the sliced apples on top of the onions.
- (Dont saute the apples!)
- Mix the apple cider, brown sugar and cinnamon together and pour over the apples/onions/pork.
- You can sprinkle on additional cinnamon if you like; I always do!
- Cover and bake at 425F for about 45 minutes or until the pork chops are done in the middle.
- Uncover for the last 12-15 minutes to brown the apples.
