Smothered Liver And Onions
- 1/2 c. Crisco shortening or equal amount bacon pan drippings
- 2 to 3 pkg. beef or calves liver
- 2 to 3 large onions, sliced into large rings
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. peper
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. warm water
- 6 lb. corned beef or large brisket of beef (do not used canned corned beef)
- 2 heads cabbage, cut in large chunks
- 6 medium onions, cut in large, cubed pieces
- 6 large potatoes, cut in large chunks
- 8 fat carrots, cut into quarters
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 2 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 c. bacon fat or pan drippings
- 1/2 c. cider vinegar
- 1/4 c. coarse black pepper
- 2 lb. cut-up chicken (thighs, drumsticks or whole chicken, cut up)
- Lawry's seasoning salt
- onion powder
- pepper
- paprika
- 2 whole fryers, cut up
- Lawry's seasoning salt
- garlic salt (can be omitted if you prefer)
- 3 tsp. black pepper
- 3 tsp. white salt
- Crisco shortening
- 1 stick Parkay margarine
- 3 c. flour
- Place flour, pepper and regular salt in a large plastic container with lid.
- (I use an empty gallon sherbet container that has been washed clean.)
- Seal with lid on.
- Shake ingredients up until they are thoroughly mixed.
