Chocolate Covered Cherries
- 2 sticks butter or margarine, softened
- 2 boxes powdered sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- evaporated milk
- 8 sq. unsweetened chocolate or chocolate chips
- 1/2 block paraffin wax
- maraschino cherries
- Cream butter and sifted sugar.
- Knead for a long time until mixture is very stiff.
- Add vanilla.
- Wait until it is rather crumbly after mixing; add a few drops of milk, a little at a time, until mixture is thickened smooth.
- Drain cherries.
- Take a level teaspoonful of fondant in hand; flatten into a cup shape and place cherry in middle.
- Smooth over cherry.
- Place on waxed paper in refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Melt paraffin wax and chocolate together.
- Take cherry filled fondant and dip in chocolate.
- Place on wax paper.
