Basic Marinara Sauce Recipe
- Onion, minced
- Green pepper, minced
- Minced garlic
- Sweet basil
- Cayenne pepper
- Salt
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 2 lg. cans crushed Italian tomatoes
- Saute/fry onion and green pepper and garlic in extra virgin olive oil for 3 min.
- Add in tomatoes and other spices to taste.
- Don't add in water.
- Simmer for 2 hrs.
- This sauce is great over shrimp and scallops and spaghetti.
- Also good with veal and peppers, meatballs or possibly sausage.
