Rhubarb Coffee Cake

  1. Mix sugar, shortening, egg and salt until well blended.
  2. I make my own sour milk (1 cup skim milk and 1 tablespoon vinegar).
  3. Let stand while preparing first ingredients.
  4. Now add flour, soda and vanilla and mix with sour milk.
  5. Add rhubarb.
  6. Pour in greased 8x10-inch pan.
  7. Mix the 3 topping ingredients.
  8. Top with brown sugar-cinnamon topping.
  9. Bake 1 hour in slow oven 300 degree.
