Hotteok Korean Cooking
- 2 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
- 200 ml Milk
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Dry yeast
- 100 ml Water (35C)
- 1/2 tbsp Sugar
- 200 ml Brown sugar
- 1/2 tbsp Cinnamon powder
- 1 tbsp Ground sesame seeds
- 3 tbsp Peanuts (finely ground)
- Combine the dry yeast and sugar into a bowl and mix.
- Add salt as well as the sifted flour, knead until the flour has blended in, and gather into a ball.
- Wrap in plastic wrap and let sit at room temperature for 2 hours.
- Mix all of the ingredients for the filling together.
- Divide the dough into 10 equal portions, stretch it out into a circle, place one heaping tablespoon of the filling in the center, and wrap it up.
- (It won't stick to your hand a if you rub them with a little oil).
- Just like making meat dumplings, pinch the top to close.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and place the closed ends at the bottom.
- Flip it over after 5 seconds, and press down with a spatula coated with oil.
- Fry over low heat until both sides are golden brown.
