Beef Tenderloin With Steakhouse Rub

  1. Rub: Heat a small skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add peppercorns and cook until fragrant.
  3. Cool slightly.
  4. Transfer to a spice grinder; grind until fine.
  5. Combine peppercorns, salt, mustard, garlic powder and thyme in a small bowl.
  6. Rub peppercorn mixture evenly over steak.
  7. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  8. Prepare grill.
  9. Grill steaks until cooked, brushing with barbecue sauce.
  10. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
