Mom's Beef Stroganoff
- 1 lb beef sirloin steak
- 1 lemon
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 can mushroom, any size you like
- 14 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons sherry wine
- flour
- 14 cup tomato juice
- salt and pepper
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sour cream
- Cut beef in small cubes and sprinkle with lemon juice.
- Let stand.
- Saute onions and mushrooms in butter.
- Lightly flour beef.
- Remove onions and mushrooms.
- Add sherry to pan and brown beef.
- Add onions, mushrooms, tomato juice, seasonings and beef broth (made from bouillon cube and water).
- Simmer 1 hour.
- Before serving, add sour cream and heat through.
- Serve over rice.
