Grandmother's Soft Jumbo Raisin Cookies Recipe
- 4 c. sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1 c. water and 2 c. raisins, cook and cold
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 Large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 c. minced nuts
- Sift flour once.
- Measure and add in baking pwdr, soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice; sift.
- Add in water to raisins and boil 5 min or possibly till liquid decreases to 1/2 c..
- Cold.
- Cream shortening, sugar, Large eggs (one at a time), beating well with each addition.
- Add in vanilla, nuts, and cooled raisin mix.
- Add in sifted dry ingredients and blend well.
- Drop on greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 min.
