Betty'S Fruit Cookies
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. milk
- 3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 lb. candied green cherries
- 1 lb. candied pineapple
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 3 tsp. soda
- 1 c. bourbon whiskey
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 lb. seedless raisins
- 1/2 lb. candied red cherries
- 1 1/2 lb. pecans
- 6 oz. pitted dates
- Preheat oven to 275u0b0 to 300u0b0.
- Chop fruit and pecans.
- (Chop fruit very small.)
- Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and milk. Reserve 1/2 cup flour.
- Mix 2 1/2 cups flour with spices and soda. Add to creamed sugar and butter alternately with whiskey. Sprinkle 1/2 cup flour over the chopped fruit and nuts; add to cookie batter.
- Bake on greased cookie sheet.
- Drop by teaspoon and bake for 20 minutes.
- These will keep for a very long time.
