Lasagne Romana(Prepare In Advance)
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. salad oil
- 1/4 to 1/2 c. minced onions
- 1/2 to 1 lb. ground chuck
- 1/2 to 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3/4 to 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 1 1/2 to 3 Tbsp. snipped parsley
- 1 1/4 c. to 2 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
- 4 to 8 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1/4 to 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 to 1/2 lb. lasagne noodles
- 1/2 to 3/4 lb. thinly sliced Mozzarella
- 1/2 to 1 lb. Ricotta or cottage cheese
- The day before serving or early same day saute onions in hot oil until light brown.
- Add beef and cook until red color is lost! Mix garlic with salt.
- Add pepper, oregano, parsley, tomatoes, tomato sauce and 2 tablespoons Parmesan.
- Simmer, covered, 40 minutes.
- Refrigerate until final preparation.
