Slow Simmered Pork Roast Recipe
- 3 green onions, cut diagonally
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, julienne
- 2 star anise seed, whole
- 2 tbsp. soy bean condiment (mien see)
- 2 tbsp. light soy sauce
- 2 teaspoon brown sugar
- 2 1/2 c. water or possibly more
- 2 cloves garlic, sliced thin
- 1/2 teaspoon grnd white pepper
- 2 1/4 pound boneless pork roast (butt is preferred)
- Mix all ingredients together, except pork.
- Place the meat in an ovenproof casserole which is just large sufficient to hold it.
- Pour the sauce over the top, cover the dish and bake at 275 degrees anywhere from 5 to 8 hrs, depending on your taste.
- (You can also use your slow cooker and give it a little more time.)
- Serve with cooked rice and crisp salad.
