Half-A-Pound-Cake

  1. Put all ingredients in a large bowl and beat together on medium speed for 20 minutes.
  2. Pour the batter into a well greased 10-inch tube pan and place in a cold oven.
  3. Set the temperature to 350u0b0F. 180u0b0c. gas mark 4 and bake for just 1 hour.
  4. Remove the cake from the oven, immediately invert onto a wire rack and tip it out, if it sticks in the pan, gently loosen the sides with a sharp knife and give the cake pan a good whack(!?!) on the countertop to shake the cake loose!
  5. Cool completely before serving.
  6. Serves 10-12.
