Sheer Khorma

  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add cardamom seeds and stir for 30 seconds.
  3. Add vermicelli and cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes or until browned.
  4. Add milk and dates.
  5. Cook over medium-low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly and skimming foam if necessary, until noodles are tender.
  6. Add sugar.
  7. Cook for 1-2 minutes until sugar is completely dissolved.
  8. Remove from heat and stir in rose water.
  9. Pour in a bowl and set aside to cool.
  10. Refrigerate to chill before serving.
  11. Before serving, garnish with nuts and silver leaf.
