Apple And Rosemary Strudel Recipe
- 285 gm Strong white flour, (10z)
- 1 x Egg
- 125 ml Water, (5fl ounce)
- 1 tsp Vegetable oil
- 4 x Apples
- 1 bn Rosemary
- 2 Tbsp. Soft brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Freshly grated nutmeg
- 3 Tbsp. Sultanas
- 55 gm Melted butter, (2oz)
- Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/gas mark 6.
- Whisk the egg, water and oil together.
- Place the flour in a bowl and make a well in the centre.
- Gradually add in the egg mix to create a dough.
- Knead the dough and beat out on a work surface till it becomes soft and elastic.
- Leave to rest for 15 min.
- Take the filling ingredients and mix together.
- Roll out the pastry into a rectangle and then using your hands, stretch it out on a clean tea towel till it becomes very thin.
- Spread all over with melted butter.
- Sprinke over the apple mix and roll up like a swiss roll using the towel to help you.
- Transfer to a baking sheet and shape.
- Brush with melted nbutter and bake for 40 min.
