Monster Chili
- 8 oz. mostaccioli
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. Parmesan
- 6 oz. Mozzarella
- Cook mostaccioli according to package directions.
- Cook beef, onion and garlic, drain.
- Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, drained mushrooms, salt, sugar, basil, pepper, bay leaf and water. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
- Remove bay leaf, stir in mostaccioli. Turn into 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
- Sprinkle Parmesan over top. Cover with foil, bake at 350u0b0 for 35 minutes.
- Put thinly sliced or grated Mozzarella on top; bake, uncovered, 5 minutes or until cheese melts.
