Guava and Cream Cheese Dessert

  1. Drain guava shells, reserving liquid in 2-cup measuring cup; set liquid aside.
  2. Reserve 2 of the guava shells for later use as garnish, if desired.
  3. Chop remaining guava shells; set aside.
  4. Stir boiling water into dry gelatin mix in medium bowl at least 2 min.
  5. until completely dissolved.
  6. Add enough ice cubes to reserved liquid to measure 2 cups.
  7. Add to gelatin; stir until ice is completely melted.
  8. Remove 1 cup of the gelatin; set aside at room temperature.
  9. Refrigerate remaining gelatin 30 min.
  10. or until slightly thickened (consistency of unbeaten egg whites).
  11. Gently stir in chopped guava.
  12. Pour into 1-1/2-qt.
  13. serving bowl; refrigerate 10 min.
  14. Place cream cheese in medium bowl.
  15. Gradually add reserved 1 cup gelatin, beating with wire whisk until well blended.
  16. Spoon over gelatin in bowl.
  17. Refrigerate at least 3 hours or until set.
  18. Top with the reserved guava shells just before serving.
  19. Store leftover dessert in refrigerator.
