Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. soft butter
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts (if desired)
- Heat oven to 375u0b0.
- In large bowl, combine brown sugar, sugar, butter and shortening; beat until fluffy.
- Add vanilla and egg. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt, mixing it well.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool 1 minute and remove from cookie sheet. Makes 4 dozen.
