Desert Rose

• 2 cups ground almonds
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 lemon, zested
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon unsalted butter, room temperature
• 1 cup powdered sugar, for dusting

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together except for the powdered sugar.
3. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on a cookie sheet.
4. Press down with a knife to make slits like a triangle in the cookie.
5. Using the end of the knife, press the center of the cookie downward.
6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
7. Let cool and then dust with powdered sugar.
