Peanut Blossoms(Makes 3 Dozen)

• 1 3/4 c. flour
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1/2 c. shortening
• 1/2 c. peanut butter
• 1/2 c. white sugar
• 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
• 1 unbeaten egg
• 2 Tbsp. milk
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 bag Hershey's chocolate candy Kisses

1. Mix together first three ingredients in small bowl.
2. Set aside.
3. Cream together shortening, peanut butter and sugars.
4. Add egg, milk and vanilla.
5. Mix well.
6. Blend in dry ingredients. Shape by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.
7. Roll in sugar.
8. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
9. Bake at 375u0b0 for 8 minutes.
10. Remove from oven and place a solid milk chocolate candy Kiss on top of each cookie, pressing down so that the cookie cracks around the edges.
11. Return to oven and bake 2 to 5 minutes longer.
