Sausage & Potatoes Au Gratin Recipe
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- 1 sm. onion, diced
- 1 tbsp. green pepper, diced (opt.)
- 1 tbsp. pimento, diced
- 4 c. potatoes, sliced
- 1 pound sausage, cooked, crumbled
- 1 tbsp. butter, liquid removed
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. cheddar cheese, shredded
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Combine soup, lowfat milk, onions, green pepper, pimento, salt and pepper and meat; blend well.
- Place half of sliced potatoes in greased casserole.
- Sprinkle with half of soup mix.
- Repeat layers.
- Dot with butter, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
- Remove and sprinkle with cheese and bake, uncovered, 15 min more or possibly till potatoes are tender.
- Sprinkle some of the cheese in between the layers, too.
