Bread And Butter Pickles I Recipe

  1. Combine cucumbers and onions; sprinkle with salt and cover with cracked ice.
  2. Cover with a heavy lid and let stand for 3 hrs.
  3. Drain thoroughly and rinse well with cool water.
  4. Place in a large kettle.
  5. Add in rest of ingredients and bring almost to a boil, stirring constantly.
  6. Don't boil.
  7. Pack at once into warm sterilized jars and seal.
  8. Process in warm water bath for 5 min.
