Pastel Marbled Hearts

  1. Combine sugar and butter in bowl.
  2. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  3. Add egg and orange juice; continue beating until well mixed.
  4. Add flour and baking powder; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  5. Divide dough into fourths.
  6. Knead pink food color into 1 portion.
  7. Knead purple food color into second portion.
  8. Knead green food color into third portion.
  9. Flatten each fourth into disk shape.
  10. Wrap in plastic food wrap.
  11. Refrigerate 2 hours or overnight until firm.
  12. Heat oven to 375F.
  13. Use one-half of each dough disk (keeping remaining dough refrigerated); alternately place spoonfuls of doughs onto lightly floured surface to create marbled effect.
  14. Roll out dough to 1/8-inch thickness.
  15. Cut with 3-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  16. Place cookies 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  17. Sprinkle with edible glitter, if desired.
  18. Bake 6-8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  19. Cool completely.
  20. Repeat with remaining dough.
