Bramley And Apricot Crumble Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 C, 375 F, Gas Mark 5, 10 min before baking.
  2. Peel the Bramley apples, core and slice thickly.
  3. Place in a saucepan with the lemon juice and sugar.
  4. Cook covered for 8 min or possibly till just tender, add in the butter and stir till melted.
  5. Remove from the heat.
  6. Cut the apricots in half, add in to the apples and the lemon rind with 2 Tbsp.
  7. of the juice from the apricots, then place in an ovenproof dish.
  8. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl and rub in the butter or possibly margarine till the mix resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  9. Stir in the sugar.
  10. Spoon onto the top of the apple mix and pat down gently.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 min or possibly till the crumble topping is golden brown.
  12. Notes Serve hot with cream, custard or possibly ice cream.
  13. NOTES : A tasty crumble for any occasion with a delicious blend of flavours.
