Deviled Ham Puff
- 2 (4 1/2 oz.) cans deviled ham
- 2 drops Tabasco
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 8 slices white bread
- 1/2 lb. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 2 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. chopped pimento or 1 Tbsp. green pepper
- salt and pepper to taste
- Grease a shallow baking dish or 2-quart casserole well.
- Blend the Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce with the deviled ham and spread evenly on each slice of bread.
- Cut the bread into 1-inch squares.
- Place one layer on bottom of baking dish and sprinkle with 1/2 the cheese.
- Place remaining bread squares on top of cheese and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Blend eggs, milk, pimento, salt and pepper.
- Pour over layers of bread and cheese. Let stand for about 15 minutes.
- Bake in a 350u0b0 oven until puffed and brown (about 30 minutes).
- Serve at once.
