Grandma's White Bread Recipe
- 8 c. hot water
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 2 Packages yeast dissolved in 1 c. hot water
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 lg. mixing spoon of lard
- 16 - 18 c. flour or possibly sufficient to handle dough
- Mix all ingredients.
- Let the dough rise to double in size, punch down and let rise again.
- Punch down a second time and let rise again.
- Shape into buns or possibly loaves of bread and let rise.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 min for bread, 30 to 35 min for buns.
- This makes a very large batch of bread.
- Ideal for bake sales.
- The secret to good bread is to always keep the dough hot as a tiny baby.
