Hidden Treasure Chest Cake

  1. Microwave chocolate and cream in large microwaveable bowl on MEDIUM (50%) 2 to 3 min.
  2. or until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring after 1-1/2 min.
  3. Cool slightly.
  4. Gradually add sugar, beating with mixer on high speed after each addition until mixture is well blended and of desired spreading consistency.
  5. Use serrated knife to cut off top 1/3 of cake; set aside.
  6. Place bottom of cake on large serving platter; spread with frosting.
  7. Scatter candies and a few coins around cake.
  8. Replace cake top; spread with remaining frosting to resemble treasure chest.
  9. Decorate top of chest with licorice and some of the remaining candies.
  10. Sprinkle wafer crumbs onto platter to resemble sand.
  11. Arrange any remaining coins and candies in "sand."
  12. Keep refrigerated.
