Louisiana Meat Pies
- 2 pounds Ground Beef
- 2 pounds Ground Pork
- 1/2 cups Finely Minced Red Bell Peppers
- 1/2 cups Finely Minced Green Bell Peppers
- 4 cloves Garlic, Minced
- 1 cup Green Onions, Chopped
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
- 1/4 cups All-purpose Flour
- 2 packages Refrigerated Pie Dough
- 1 whole Egg
- 2 Tablespoons Water
- Combine beef, pork, bell pepper, garlic, green onions, cayenne, salt and pepper in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook, stirring until the meat is brown and all pink has disappeared.
- Remove from heat, sift flour over the meat mixture, and stir until blended.
- Drain the mixture in a colander and cool completely.
- Cut pie dough into fourths.
- Add meat and pinch edges together.
- Brush with egg wash made from egg and water.
- Bake at 350F until golden brown.
