Fruit Salad With Pretzel Topping
- 3 cups pretzels, broken into small pieces
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 (3 1/2 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 cups whipped topping, thawed
- 8 ounces pineapple, crushed, drained well
- 2 (11 ounce) cans mandarin oranges, crushed, drained well
- Preheat oven to 450 and line a jelly roll pan with foil.
- For topping:.
- Place broken pretzels on pan.
- Mix melted butter and brown sugar together.
- Dump over pretzels.
- Stir until well coated.
- Bake 5 minutes.
- Cool and break apart.
- For salad:.
- Mix pudding and buttermilk together in large bowl.
- Fold in whipped topping, pineapple and mandarin oranges.
- Cover top of salad with pretzel topping just before serving.
