Refreshing Cold Ramen for the Summertime
- 1 serving Chinese-style noodles
- 1 tomato Sliced tomatoes
- 1 Soft-set egg
- 1 Green onions
- 1 Pepper or coarsely ground black pepper
- 400 ml A: Water
- 1 tbsp A: Chicken soup stock
- 1 tsp A: Oyster sauce
- 2 1/2 tbsp A: Soy sauce
- 1 tsp A: Sugar
- 2 pinch A: Salt
- 1 tsp B: Sesame oil
- 1 clove each B: Grated ginger and garlic
- 1 tsp B: Vinegar
- 1 tsp B: Doubanjiang (if you like it spicy)
- Make the soup.
- Boil water in a pot and add the A condiments.
- When the condiments have dissolved, turn the heat off and add the B condiments.
- Chill the soup in the fridge.
- (Add white sesame seeds if you like).
- Boil the Chinese-style noodles.
- Rinse in water to remove starchiness.
- Combine the noodles and soup in a serving dish.
- Arrange the toppings.
- Sprinkle pepper (or black pepper) and green onions to finish.
