Asian BBQ Country Ribs with Garlic Green Beans
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 2 Tablespoons Chopped Fresh Ginger
- 1/2 whole Yellow Onion, Diced Small
- 3/4 cups Ketchup
- 1/2 cups Hoison Sauce
- 1/4 cups Oyster Sauce
- 1/4 cups Honey
- 1 whole Orange, Juiced
- 4 pounds Country Style Ribs (Southern Style)
- Kosher Salt And Fresh Cracked Pepper To Taste
- Sesame Seeds, For Garnish
- 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 3 cloves Finely Minced Garlic
- 1 pound Trimmed Fresh Green Beans
- For the sauce: In a medium-sized pot on high heat with the olive oil, caramelize the ginger and onions.
- Once brown, add in all ingredients and let simmer on low heat.
- For the ribs: Season all sides of the ribs with salt and pepper and cook them on each side of a very hot grill (450 degrees to 550 degrees F) for 8 to 10 minutes to get them perfectly golden brown.
- Once brown, remove them from the grill and place them on a sheet pan lined with parchment.
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
- Using a pastry brush, baste each rib with some of the Asian BBQ sauce.
- Place the ribs in the oven on 300 degrees F for 3 hours.
- Every 30 minutes, re-baste the ribs on all sides with more Asian BBQ sauce.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven.
- For the beans: In a large saute pan with the olive oil, caramelize the garlic.
- Once brown, turn the heat down to medium-high.
- Add in the green beans and saute for 6 to 8 minutes or until the beans are al dente or cooked to your desired doneness.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- To plate, stake up the ribs on a plate topped off with some sesame seeds and serve alongside the green beans.
