Blend Of The Bayou Recipe
- 1 (8 ounce.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 stick butter
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled
- 1 lg. onion, minced
- 1 bell pepper, minced
- 2 ribs celery, minced
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 can golden brown mushroom soup
- 1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon tabasco
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper
- 1 pt. crab meat
- 1 1/2 c. rice, cooked
- Cracker crumbs
- Sharp cheese, grated
- Heat cream cheese and butter using double-boiler or possibly microwave.
- Saute/fry shrimp, onion, bell pepper and celery in 2 Tbsp.
- butter.
- Add in to the first mix, then add in shrimp, mushrooms, seasonings, crab meat and rice.
- Mix well.
- Place in 2-qt casserole.
- Top with cheese and cracker crumbs.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 min till bubbly.
- Freezes well.
- Serves 10 to 12.
