Carmel Fudge Cake

  1. Reheat oven to 350F (180C).
  2. Prepare cake mix as pkg directs.
  3. pour 2 cups batter into greased 13x9-inch baking pan; bake 15 minutes.
  4. in heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt caramels and margarine.
  5. Remove from heat; add condensed milk.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Spread carmel over cake; spread remaining cake batter over carmel.
  8. Top with nuts.
  9. Bake 30 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched.
  10. Cool.
