Poppy Seed Filling for Hamantaschen

  1. Soak poppyseeds in boiling water for 1 hour.
  2. Place in pot on stove and boil for 5 minute Drain.
  3. Cover poppyseeds with more water and boil again.
  4. Drain.
  5. Add milk to poppyseeds and boil for 5 minute.
  6. Add butter and honey and simmer on a low heat until thick and liquid has evaporated.
  7. When cool, add grated apple.
  8. Taste, and add more honey if not sweet enough for your liking.
  9. Place in mincer or food processsor and mince together.
